Garden design with nature in mind.
About
Hi! I’m Mere.
In 2019 I quit my air-conditioned office job to follow a life-long love of nature. I have been growing food and flowers - and teaching other people how to do it - ever since.
When I completed my permaculture design certification in 2019, it was the culmination of many years of WWOOFing, volunteering on urban farms, foraging, backpacking, living lightly on the land, and growing my own small gardens in the yards of the rentals I lived in in Portland, Oregon and Atlanta, Georgia.
Since moving to rural Illinois I have been rewilding an acre of land, as well as nurturing a food forest landscape that feeds my family and friends throughout the growing season. And I’ve been designing gardens for fellow DIY-ers who want their own plant oases no matter the size of their space.
We don’t know what the future will be like, but we see the ecological impacts of climate change already taking place. I design home gardens at just about any scale for people to return to some of what’s been lost ecologically. This includes planting native flowers for local pollinators and growing some of your own food, if you want to.
Whether you’d like to receive some ideas for native plants that will grow happily in your space, a garden design that you can be proud to install yourself at your own pace, or individualized coaching over time; I would love to work with you.
